Are you an experienced, motivated and driven band 6 physiotherapist with an interest in exploring a career in Paediatrics and Neonates? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to gain invaluable experience and specialist skills in acute Paediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care at Queens Hospital, situated conveniently on the Elizabeth Line.
You will have an opportunity to work alongside a Highly Specialist Band 7 Physiotherapist within a specialist multidisciplinary team providing acute assessment and treatment within the children’s ward. You will also be an embedded member of staff based on the Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care and Special Care Baby Unit. In addition to receiving hands on experience and mentoring you will benefit from having access to specialist courses and training and will be supported to attend relevant network and Operational Delivery Network (ODN) peer support groups.

To work as a physiotherapist in a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency team to provide, under the guidance of the specialist Band 7 physiotherapist a Physiotherapy service to paediatric and neonatal patients and carers, facilitating and maximising patient and carer safety and potential within the service boundaries.
To be an integral member of the inter-disciplinary team (IDT) setting patient-centred aims, goals and targets within the comprehensive care packages including referral to community and other hospital and rehabilitation settings health, social care and health, education, and the voluntary agencies in a locality.
To act as an autonomous practitioner in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of a diverse caseload giving highly specialist guidance and advice to other members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) within your scope and level of expertise. This maybe cross site.
To demonstrate evidence of knowledge and skills in the management of neonatal, paediatric neurological / developmental, respiratory, and orthopaedic conditions and those with behavioural and learning difficulties.

We’re looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It’ll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.

- Proven clinical experience within the in-patient setting during Band 6 rotations in an acute hospital setting and substantial post graduate experience.
