We are growing our Radiology Assistant Workforce!
Following successful acquisition of a Community ultrasound service, we are recruiting to radiology department assistant roles to support our wider Ultrasound and Radiology Team.
You will be required to work across our sites at St Albans City Hospital, Hemel Hempstead Hospital, Watford General Hospital and Elstree Clinic.
Hours of service are from 8 am to 8.30 pm over 7 days. We are open to flexible working arrangements.
The roles are set to commence in February/March 2025.

Main duties of the job
Duties will include:
• Welcoming all patients and service users to the department.
• Acting as a chaperone for patients, including those requiring intimate examinations, ensuring patient dignity and respect is maintained at all times.
• Completing administrative processes and supporting patient flow through the department.
• Booking patients in for their examinations and directing patients to the relevant waiting areas.
• Answering telephone queries.
• Preparing examination rooms and equipment.
• Assisting Radiologists, Sonographers, Radiographers and Radiology Nurses during procedures.

Person specification
Education and qualifications:
Essential criteria
- GCSE qualification (Maths, English) or equivalent.
- NVQ / Level 3 Customer Care, healthcare OR willingness to work towards an NVQ / Level 3 qualification.
- Experience in a customer / patient facing role
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge/Experience of computer systems.
- European Computer Driving Licence.
Knowledge:
Essential criteria
- Understands the importance of patient confidentiality and information governance.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of the role and responsibilities of a radiology / Sonography assistant.
Experience:
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a busy environment.
- Experience of working in a customer orientated environment.
Desirable criteria
- Experience working in a caring/patient facing role and following healthcare protocols and procedures.
- Experience of handling confidential information.
