Unscheduled Care/General Medicine Fixed Term Appointment for a Junior Clinical Fellow based in Acute Medicine The Grange University Hospital/Royal Gwent Hospital with General medicine on-call commitments base in GUH/RGH.
Although these Clinical Fellow posts are not recognised for training by HEIW, they are afforded the same training opportunities as our training posts, with full access to in house training. Study leave is encouraged. You will have the opportunities to perform an audit cycle and take part in case presentation

Perhaps you’re considering taking a year out between FP and Core Training and are looking for wider experience?
Main duties of the job
The Acute Medical Unit is part of the busiest network of AMUs in Wales, with an average total of 130-150 new admissions in 24 hours across the whole health board, of which half are discharged the same day. The Royal Gwent hospital sees between thirty and fifty of these patients in a day, and specialises in the care of ‘ambulatory’ or SDEC sensitive conditions, and the care of frail elders. The post holder will be part of a large medical and multidisciplinary team working under direct consultant supervision, who are well established RCP trainers. There is a team of ANPs and PAs, and close links with the medical specialties in the new Grange University Hospital, as well as inreach from Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, social work, and Old Age Psychiatry.
