Senior Physiotherapist – Cardiac and Respiratory
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our medical team, specialising in in-patient cardiac physiotherapy.
You should have:
• Excellent communication and team working skills
• Completed core junior rotations including ITU, medicine / elderly care, neurology and orthopaedics
• HCPC and CSP registration
We actively encourage continuing professional development through clinical supervision and a comprehensive in-service training programme. You will be well supported by an experienced team of physiotherapists including consultant respiratory physiotherapists and a cardiac rehabilitation team. You will have the opportunity to develop your senior skills with supervision of juniors and students and involvement in audit and service development.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join our pre-existing medical physiotherapy team who currently look after a wide caseload of in-patients including NIV, medical rehabilitation and cardiac patients. The post holder will be responsible for the specialist management of our CCU and cardiac ward, as well as assisting with the daily caseload management across the medicine team.
The physiotherapy department is committed to providing excellent patient care across seven days. You will also contribute to the emergency respiratory on-call rota.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To assess and treat patient’s in relevant rotational area. To support the team in the organisation and provision of an efficient, high quality and co-ordinated physiotherapy service for patients in each area. To undertake a defined clinical caseload. To ensure that patient and service standards and priorities are met. To provide clinical supervision to assigned junior physiotherapists, technical instructors, physiotherapy assistants and students.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- HCPC registration
- BSc Physiotherapy
Desirable criteria
- Member of CSP
- Member of Specific interest group
- Post graduate qualifications in Respiratory Physiotherapy
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Previous Acute NHS experience at Band 5 level
- Achieved core skills in all core Junior rotations, including respiratory
- Evidence to support knowledge base in respiratory
- Previous acute NHS experience
Desirable criteria
- Previous Senior Experience in Respiratory
