The Rheumatology department is part of the acute medicine care division and helps deliver high quality inpatient and outpatient Rheumatology care as well as in general medicine. The unit works closely with the local community musculoskeletal service (Circle MSK), physiotherapy, orthopaedics and radiology. The department also runs a DXA service based at St Albans City Hospital.

•    Dr Sundeept Bhalara – Consultant and Clinical Director for Medical Specialities
•    Dr Leena Patel - Consultant and Clinical lead for Rheumatology
•    Dr Krishnan Baburaj – Consultant 
•    Dr Charlotte Wing – Consultant 
•    Dr Anoushka Seneviratne - Consultant 
•    2 ST doctors in Rheumatology (ST4 level /GIM and ST5 level in pure) from Eastern Deanery Specialist Registrar training rotations
•    2 IMTs
•    1 IMT level Trust Grade Doctor
•    3 FY1s
•    3 Specialist Nurses in Rheumatology with a planned expansion to 5 nurses
•    3 DXA Technicians
