Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic full time band 6 Dietitian to join our Imperial multidisciplinary Bariatric services team based at St Marys Hospital. The post holder will be one of two rotational band 6 positions, working in both the inpatient and outpatient setting, throughout the Bariatric patient pathway.  This rotation will focus on pre-operative behaviour change support and then rotate into providing post-operative advice. Both positions help manage a variable bariatric inpatient caseload including enteral tube feeding when indicated. You will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, evidence-based clinical service and will receive regular clinical supervision from expert Band 7 dietitians.

We are a large, high profile, forward thinking and friendly department involved in dietetic student placements and supportive of continual professional development for all staff members.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a specialist dietetic service to the Bariatrics services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
  • To work in liaison with the Clinical Lead Dietitian in the development, delivery and evaluation of the post.
  • This Band 6 Dietitian position is one of two rotational posts working in the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust specialist Bariatric Dietetic services.
  • This post covers both in and outpatient work; the individual must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the management of patients in the specialist area.

Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Recognised Degree and/or postgraduate diploma
  • Eligible for HCPC registration (Dietitian)
  • Evidence of on-going CPD
Desirable criteria
  • Post registration validated professional course e.g. PENG

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Clinical experience of working with complex patients in the acute NHS setting.
  • Experience of being involved in audit
  • Experience of clinical supervision of students and junior staff
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a teaching hospital

Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Time management/Organisational skills
  • Computer literacy including email, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
