We are looking for an trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) with a specialist interest in Cardiology, to join an established team of cardiac rhythm management ACPs. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic trainee ACP to work collaboratively with the multi professional team in providing advanced clinical practice within local and nationally agreed protocols and guidelines, with the experience, knowledge, and leadership to develop and support the delivery of the service. We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic candidates who have a high level of knowledge and experience of acute nursing in a Cardiology setting.

Cardiac rhythm management is a sub speciality of cardiology that manages patients with arrhythmias and cardiac devices in the pre hospital, outpatient, day case and inpatient setting.  As a trainee ACP you will be developed to meet the four pillars of advanced practice to manage and facilitate this population’s patient pathway. 

Trainee practitioners will be expected to complete an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) under the support and guidance of your ACP and medical colleagues.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

1. As a Trainee Advanced Practitioner (ACP) you are expected to work in conjunction with the 4 pillars of Advanced Practice as outlined in the HEE Multi-professional Framework (2017

2. This is a training post in which the practitioner will deliver, under the supervision of an Advanced Clinical Practitioner or Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP) an advanced level of clinical practice within the speciality area

3. The trainee ACP will develop the knowledge and skill required to provide expert clinical management and care to patients within the speciality area

4. The trainee ACP will complete a clinical portfolio, providing evidence of the HEE capabilities for advanced clinical practice and speciality specific competencies in practice whilst working towards a recognised MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.

You need to be able to provide evidence of previous post registration CPD and degree / MSc level study.  You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to completion of the ACP MSc specialising in cardiac rhythm management.

  • Registered Healthcare Professional on relevant part of NMC / HCPC register
  • Completion of Healthcare Degree (or equivalent - Minimum 120 credits at L6 or evidence of Masters level study)
  • Committed and eligible for participation in and completion of MSc in area of speciality
  • Higher Education Institute approved course in supporting learners in practice or the ability to Provide evidence of: • Supporting a range of learners in practice • Supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
  • Evidence of on-going personal and professional development
  • Basic keyboard skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Significant Post Registration experience within chosen specialty
  • Broad awareness of wider Trust initiatives / pressures
  • Coaching/leadership experience

  • Independent Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
  • ILS trained
  • Evidence of ability to change or initiate practice
  • Registered on MSc Pathway as an experienced practitioner
  • Further study at Level 7 within relevant pathway
  • Leadership qualification (RCN, LDC, Edward Jenner, Elizabeth Garret Anderson, Nye Bevan)
  • Maths and English Level 2 or have recognised equivalence from the ENIC process
