This post is based in the oncology pharmacy, which serves the Southampton Oncology Centre. We are one of the largest oncology centres in the country with medical and clinical oncology specialities as well as a large haematology service, encompassing the Wessex Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMT), as well as a Teenage and Yound Adult unit and regional paediatric cancer service.

In 2021 oncology pharmacy re-located into a purpose built unit that we designed. We have been at the forefront of developing new roles for staff. We continually strive to implement changes to improve the working environment and service delivery. For example, our bespoke manufacturing system Medcura. Indeed or SACT prescribing system is one of the few in the country to be networked across six Trusts.
