We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our small team in the catering department helping prepare meals for patients and staff.

 

Main duties of the job

To provide a clean and safe environment through the delivery of a quality cleaning and food and beverage services, in compliance with the Trust procedures and policies.  To actively promote good communication links and customer service between Hotel Services and staff, patients and visitors.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our small team in the catering department helping prepare meals for patients and staff.

The successful candidates will have experience of working within the catering industry working in a kitchen preparing meals serving customers. This not essential as training will be provided.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good basic education – reading and writing, plus basic numeric skills
  • Knowledge of various catering tasks and the ability to perform manual catering tasks
  • Experience of a kitchen environment
Desirable criteria
  • Food safety level 2
  • NVQ level 2 in food safety or 6 months experience in a kitchen

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Good interpersonal skills – able to communicate with department staff and work colleagues in a courteous and sensitive manner
Desirable criteria
  • Formal work experience in a healthcare environment
  • Experience in using catering machinery
  • Experience in meal services
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Experience working as part of a team
