An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Trust Resilience team as Head of Command and Resilience Training. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Resilience, the Head of Command and Resilience Training is accountable for the leadership, management, development, and performance of a team responsible for the delivery of Command & Resilience training.

The post holder will be responsible for the proposal, implementation and delivery of training programmes relating to command, major incident including control centres and wider Resilience training across the Trust, and in collaboration with other Ambulance Trusts, NHS Resilience Capabilities Unit and NHS England EPRR team regionally, and nationally. 

The post holder will ensure that the Trust delivers on its obligations under statute, NHS England Commissioning arrangements/ Ambulance Standard Contract/EPRR Framework, CQC Registration, Multi-Agency Agreements, and obligations, locally set strategy and in consideration of pertinent national guidance. This will be in partnership with the senior Resilience Team, Accountable Emergency Officer, and the broader senior team within the Directorate.

As a trained National Inter-agency Liaison Officer (NILO) the post holder will require a high level of knowledge around the specialist skills sets required, providing specialist tactical and operational advice to NWAS commanders, and collaborating with partners. The postholder will be required to lead by example and maintain competencies as laid down in National Occupational Standards and as defined by the Trusts training needs analysis. As a NILO the postholder will be part of the Trusts on call rota. 

This is an excellent opportunity for the post holder to continue to develop a team of Command and Resilience Educators accountable for the delivery of EPRR training across the regional footprint of the North West Ambulance Service.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
