Consultant Haematologist with a specialist interest in inherited and acquired bleeding disorders
Bart’s Health is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated consultant haematologist to join their team. This is a replacement 10PA substantive, full time post and joins an existing team of 3 other consultants who between them cover all areas of care for patients with inherited and acquired bleeding disorders. This post is essential to ensuring that we continue to provide a high standard of care for patients with inherited and acquired bleeding disorders and will help with the sustainability, development, and expansion of the service at Barts Health NHS Trust.
Context:
The Department of Clinical Haematology is based on 4 sites (Royal London, St Bartholomew’s, Whipps Cross and Newham Hospitals) and functions as one department. The medical team consists of 22 consultant haematologists and 9 haematology trainees, plus middle grade and academic haematology fellows. We have a busy and interesting clinical and research practice and hold one of the largest NIHR-funded research portfolio for non-malignant haematology research in the UK.
The Pathology laboratory is one of the largest in the UK and all laboratories are UKAS-accredited. Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton University NHSFT and Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust have agreed to form a Pathology Partnership. The three organisations process more than 100,000 tests a day on behalf of patients across Northeast and South East London.
