West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

We are looking for a motivated and flexible occupational therapist to join an exciting cross trust rotation in West London covering community rehabilitation, inpatient rehab, rapid response, mental health inpatient and community, neuro, home first , discharge hub and wheelchair services.
This is an ideal opportunity for new graduates, those who are qualifying in the next 3 months or current Band 5 occupational therapists looking to build on their experience within a supportive, friendly environment. It will give you an excellent feel for how modern health care is delivered in different settings across the Borough of Hounslow.

Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapists receive regular supervision with senior clinicians, monthly band 5 Preceptorship  meetings , monthly OT meeting and rotation specific training as part of the band 5 competency program

Each rotation is for 6 months however the post holder may be required to rotate at an earlier or later date depending on service need.
To manage own caseload, assess plan and implement and evaluate interventions using evidence based/best practice, working towards patient centred goals in the context of the speciality and as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

  • HCPC Registration

Experience

  • Application of OT process and core OT skills including functional assessment and activity analysis
  • Multidisciplinary team working
  • Experience of working / student placements in a mental health and physical setting
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development including reflective practice and Clinical Learning

  • Experience of working / student placement in a Social Care or 3rd Sector setting
  • Involvement in research and clinical audit

Knowledge
