Rehabilitation Engineering Technician

West London NHS Trust provides a full range of mental health, community and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.
We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.
Job overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated technician to join the established team.
You will be an essential part of the running of the wheelchair hub technical services, managing the repairs and maintenance, stores and warehousing.
You will have excellent technical skills, with an ability to problem solve and take initiative. You demonstrate empathy, respect and patience when working face to face or by telephone with our users, who have a broad range of communication needs
You will have experience and an organised approach to technical and asset management duties. You will demonstrate accuracy and be methodical in data entry in IT systems and our bespoke Data Base system called BEST.
Main duties of the job
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, working with colleagues and co-ordinating services to deliver high quality, client-centered care. Supporting the service delivery 8am-5pm Monday -Friday. Will have On-call responsibilities on a rota basis.
You will demonstrate enthusiasm and be keen to learn, delivering continual improvement within the service. You will develop your skills in line with technical competencies, with access to clinical and administrative support to help you understand the workings of the service. You will be well supported by the Rehabilitation Engineer, Clinical Specialist and clinical services manager.
