Job overview

An exciting clinical leadership opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified, registered and experienced speech and language therapist to work in the Burnley and Pendle Team. This posts will provide clinical leadership to SLT staff within the immediate team, as well as the development of clinical pathways and initiatives across Lancashire.

 

Main duties of the job

You will work in partnership with the Team Coordinator to support the day to day management of Speech and Language Therapy staff. This co-production relationship will focus on the day to day management and leadership of the team within Burnley and Pendle. You will manage a complex caseload and be capable of working autonomously to provide direct clinical care. You will be able to provide effective clinical and professional supervision, be able to identify training needs of individuals and lead on the delivery of suitable training, demonstrating high level, expert speech and language therapy skills and knowledge. You will be required to support student placements and RCSLT competencies for newly qualified staff.

This position holds direct responsibility for the continued development and oversight of the SLT training package that is delivered by staff to setting staff and Parents across the LSCFT footprint. In addition to this, we are seeking individuals who are interested in undertaking clinical transformation projects to shape our future service delivery model.

Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • - Professional Degree or equivalent in speech and language therapy - Current Professional Registration with HCPC

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Detailed understanding of clinical governance framework & implications for practice, including audit and research governance
  • Extensive knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools for children with diverse needs.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of recent and relevant post graduate experience encompassing the specialist field of practice. that demonstrates an in depth knowledge of specialist area

Work Related Circumstances

  • Ability to comply with the travel requirements of the post.
