This is an exciting time to join the team at Southampton’s Children’s Hospital. We are offering Rotation posts across our Children's Hospital for experienced paediatric staff Nurses to join our team.

Southampton’s Children’s Hospital is a 115 bedded hospital catering for both local and regional children from the Wessex Region including the Channel Islands.
Our Children’s Hospital prides itself on providing a variety of specialist tertiary services and therefore rotations can include any of the following areas within critical care for children incorporating Paediatric ICU, Neonatal Intensive Care and Paediatric HDU, Oncology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Orthopaedics and Major Trauma, Urology, Nephrology, ENT Surgery, Outpatients and Children's Day Unit JADW. The Children’s Hospital has a dedicated Children’s Emergency Department and is a Paediatric Major Trauma Centre.

Southampton Children’s Hospital is a tertiary paediatric Hospital which offer the following services:
- Dedicated children's emergency and short stay department
- Paediatric Major Trauma Centre
- Paediatric Intensive care and Retrieval service
- Paediatric Outreach service
- Tertiary Oncology, Cardiology, Neurological, Surgical , Orthopaedic ,
- Medical and Endocrine centre
- Haemodialysis Unit
- CAHMS team / Learning Disability Nurse
- Dedicated Play Team
- Tertiary medical , cardiac, and surgical neonatal unit
- Neonatal retrieval service
- Paediatric Medical Unit (PMU)
- Paediatric High Dependency Unit (HDU)
- G2 Paediatric Neurology
- G3 Orthopaedics
- G4 SUN (Surgery, Urology, Nephrology)
- Piam Brown (Oncology)
- John Atwell Day Ward (JADW)
- E1 Ocean Ward (Surgical & Cardiology)
- PICU
- Children's Out Patients
- Bursledon House
- Neonatal Unit
Rotation examples can include PICU E1 Cardiac Ward, PICU PHDU, ED Paediatric Admissions Unit PMU, G3, G4 Surgical Wards, all combinations will be considered. Rotations will consist of 9-month placements in 2-3 of your chosen areas.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
- Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
- Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
- Understanding of personal accountability
- Knowledge of own role within the team
- Provide evidence of teaching and supporting learners in practice in the role of practice supervisor
- Awareness of evidence-based practice
- Awareness of responsibilities for management of infection control
- Evidence of on-going personal development
- Able to use initiative
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of recent study
- Previous experience/qualification in relevant specialty
- Teaching experience

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
