Job overview

We are pleased to invite enthusiastic and dynamic candidates to join our team.

This is a locum role for 6 months,  pending substantive recruitment for a new permanent full time consultant post which has been created to meet the increasing  demand for children mental health services in the borough.

This is a split role between community CAMHS and the paediatric mental  health team (PMHT) at the Whittington hospital, where the post holder will be based for one day a week.

The successful candidate will support Islington community CAMHS, by providing clinical leadership, psychiatric consultations and appropriate interventions as needed, and will provide clinical leadership to the paediatric liaison team with an emphasis on crisis assessments and management. There are opportunities for paediatric liaison work if this is in the post holder’s interests.

Working for our organisation

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff.  We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief.  The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
