The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable. 

 

Job overview

To provide a professional, accurate and prompt administrative service working with Optometrists ensuring that patients are dealt with within RTT guidelines and databases are completed in a timely manner.  You will need to be organised and efficient ensuring that deadlines and targets are met.   

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Accurately maintain databases, filing systems in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring that other team members are able to locate letters/information in your absence and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Attend relevant meetings with other departments ensuring the necessary statistics and information needed is up to date and available on time.

Understand the reporting structure in terms of supervision and support in making decisions.

Have a thorough understanding of Welsh Government referral to treat guidance.

Liaise with Primary Care Opticians to ensure patient are seen in a timely manner and all information is recorded on WPAS.

Liaise with Consultants/Senior Doctors with regards to reporting and outcomes.
