Job overview

The Renal Unit is seeking to appoint a Data Co-ordinator.  The post holder will require attention to detail, accurate data entry skills, excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage fast paced change.

The role will provide a comprehensive, high quality administrative service to the clinical teams to co-ordinate and maintain arrangements to facilitate the patients’ progression along a defined pathway.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of a team, the ability to forge and maintain relationships with a variety of staff group will be required.  Ability to work autonomy and prioritising workload is required, together with previous data entry and analytical skills would be advantageous.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Diploma Level Qualification in Administrative Related Field (or equivalent level of experience)
  • English Language and Maths GCSE Standard
  • Supervisory/management/ leadership qualification or willing to work towards.
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL
  • Stage 2 Word Processing and or Typewriting
  • Knowledge of Renal Data systems

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Good knowledge of current Renal Guidelines
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Experience of data handling including sourcing, collecting and interrogating of information
  • Experience of interaction with all levels of staff
Desirable criteria
  • Good Knowledge of Excel
  • Experience of Renal Database

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Packages particularly Excel
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own workload and achieve deadlines
  • Ability to set up new working processes
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to speak Welsh

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of Renal Management Systems and Knowledge of Renal and Diabetes PFI Contract
