Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed
Job overview
To be an effective member of the Administration team, by contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Sterile Services Department by working efficiently to departmental quality systems and BCUHB policies. Ensure that departmental objectives are delivered in an accurate, timely and effective manner.
First point of contact for the Sterile Services Department by telephone, e-mail, internal correspondence and for all visitors to the department.
Operate the office equipment, photocopier, labellers, laminator, printers, computers and various software programs, especially the traceability system
Main duties of the job
To provide efficient clerical support to members of the department including the transcribing of minutes, letters, memos, photocopying, filing, faxing and monitoring of stock levels. To provide cover of other administration duties during periods of annual leave, sickness as directed by management. Support with the preparation of qualitative and quantitative data used for periodic departmental papers and reports using the Microsoft 365 package and other electronic applications such as HESSDA Traceability System, Bionova Cloud.
Maintain comprehensive computerised and manual filing system, ensuring information is recorded and stored appropriately, e.g. HESSDA Traceability System, Papertrail. Data inputting duties to ensure maintenance of accurate databases and quality records.
Assist the Administrative Manager with the maintenance of the Quality Management System, this could include but not be limited to: SSD Technical File, Procedures, Check Sheets, Work instructions, Notices, Standard Operating Procedures etc.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE Grade C or above in English Language
- ECDL or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Copy/Audio Typing
- Decontamination experience
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of medical devices terminology
- Experience using Microsoft 365 system and other electronic software
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of current quality standards, legislation and government guidance relating to Decontamination
- Experience with NHS electronic systems
