The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.
Job overview

Are you a dietitian looking to develop your skills in an exciting dietetic department? Want to live and work in an outstandingly beautiful area with beaches and mountains on your doorstep? Then come and join our dynamic team based in Central North Wales.
This Band 6 acute dietetic role is based in Glan Clwyd Hospital – a hospital which is embracing innovative and better ways of working, and epitomizes the core values of our Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The post holder will have the opportunity to develop and broaden skills in oral and artificial nutrition support, working with some of the most complex patient groups, including patients on critical care and the gastroenterology wards. The role offers the opportunity to work with the Consultant led Nutrition Support Team to ensure patient care is optimized using an integrated, multidisciplinary approach.
Main duties of the job
Quality improvement initiatives are welcomed in the department. You would be encouraged and supported in considering improved and more effective ways of working.
You will be joining an enthusiastic and friendly team of 19 dietitians delivering services in acute and primary care and public health. We deliver clinical placements for students, have secretarial and assistant support and are part of a wider team of 50 dietitians working across the three Areas of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
- Degree in Dietetics
- HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- Member of specialist interest group Working towards MSc or evidence of research qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post registration training in specialist area/advanced diploma in dietetics
- Member of British Dietetic Association
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of service development and ability to use own initiative. Clinical educators course
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to work in a team and unsupervised. Ability to manage own workload. Proven organisational skills. Good time management skills. Good teaching, supervisory and appraisal skills.
Desirable criteria
- Basic IT/Keyboard skills Experience in working in the community /lone working. Experience in risk management.
