Job overview
A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Dietetics Department at Glan Clwyd Hospital as a Specialist Acute Vascular Dietitian. Vascular surgical patients can have complicated acute and chronic nutritional presentations which require specialist dietetic treatment.
A comprehensive nutritional assessment and care plan considers macro- and micronutrient intake, comorbidities that affect the ingestion of nutrients, appropriate route of nutritional support, medications that affect wound healing and/or serum glucose levels, and the overall medical, nutritional and metabolic status of the patient.
Main duties of the job
Our Acute Dietetic Service are looking to recruit a band 6 Clinical Specialist Dietitian to provide this specialist service to the Vascular Ward and MDT, and to be an integral member of the Conwy & Denbighshire (Central BCUHB) area Acute Dietetic team.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree in Dietetics
- HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- Member of specialist interest group Working towards MSc or evidence of research qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Post registration training in specialist area/advanced diploma in dietetics
- Member of British Dietetic Association
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of service development and ability to use own initiative. Clinical educators course
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to work in a team and unsupervised. Ability to manage own workload. Proven organisational skills. Good time management skills. Good teaching, supervisory and appraisal skills.
Desirable criteria
- Basic IT/Keyboard skills Experience in working in the community /lone working. Experience in risk management.
