The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an Emergency Department Receptionist to join the Emergency Care Directorate’s Administration Team at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.
As a part of this very busy team, the successful applicant is expected to be very flexible, have a pleasant personality and a positive approach to their work. Applicants must also have a good standard of education, be adaptable and have good organisational skills. This individual will require excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with sensitive matters and highly confidential patient information.
Previous receptionist/administrative experience and knowledge of the Welsh Patient Administration System (WPAS) and Symphony is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Overtime is available.
Main duties of the job
· The SDEC receptionist is responsible for providing an efficient front-line service to the Same Day Emergency Care Unit within the Emergency Quadrant. You are expected to deliver a high standard of customer care to a wide range of client groups including, patients, relatives and their carers whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
By the nature of the duties the post holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with staff, patients, carers and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post

- Up to GCSE standard for Maths and English or equivalent experience

- Familiar with WPAS, IFIT, Welsh Clinical Portal and Emis Health

Applicant requirements
