Job overview

This is a permanent post for the position of Healthcare Law Administrator based in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

The Healthcare Law Administrator will provide efficient and effective secretarial and administrative services to the Healthcare Law Team encompassing all healthcare legal matters including clinical negligence claims, personal injury claims and inquests.

Main duties of the job

  • First point of contact for the Healthcare Law Team.
  • Deal with enquiries from various people including Claimants Solicitors, Legal and Risk Services and Health Board staff, filtering and assigning these queries to the most appropriate person in a timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support to the Healthcare Law Team in all aspects of the role with day-to-day tasks.
  • Open and process all new legal matters and record on DATIX.
  • Responsible for reviewing medical records prior to disclosure and the timely disclosure of all records under GDPR.
  • Manage the pending claim, inquest and legal case folders.
  • Maintain DATIX on a daily basis ensuring that all matters are logged appropriately and that all documentation is uploaded onto the system.
  • Open and log incoming daily correspondence, filtering appropriately between team members.
  • Scan, save, send and file correspondence on a daily basis.
  • Access patient information in relation to legal matters from BCUHB software including Occupational Health Records, Personnel Records for the purpose of disclosure e.g., WPAS, Welsh Clinical Portal, RADIS, etc.
  • Responsible for processing invoices and raising finance requests received by the Healthcare Law Team, including obtaining the appropriate delegated authority for sign off.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
