The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.
Job overview
Responsible for management of all medical staffing issues and relevant operational support for the Medicine Directorate. The post holder is responsible for planning and organising a broad range of complex activities such as managing agreed targets set out by the Welsh Government and Welsh Deanery in relation to key performance indicators eg. Junior doctor management, medical rota compliance etc. Monitor progress of relevant key performance indicators and work collaboratively to deliver operational and strategic objectives. These responsibilities require the formulation and adjustment of plans as required.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with other members of the Management Team, the post-holder has direct day to day management responsibility for all medical staff within the directorate. The post holder will be expected to identify and implement new and improved ways of working to support the directorate and the Management Team and to promote achievement of key operational and strategic objectives for the directorate. The post holder will be expected to produce routine and ad hoc information to support the monitoring of quality indicators and the achievement of key directorate objectives.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
