This post is Fixed term/Secondment for 9 months to meet the needs of the service.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Assessment and Discharge Team. The successful applicant will be providing prompt assessment, intervention and discharge planning to patients based within the emergency quadrant in Glan Clwyd Hospital. This is a fixed term opportunity covering maternity leave for 22.5 hours per week, for 9 months. The successful candidate will support discharges from hospital with a view to supporting people to remain in their own homes and avoiding hospital admissions.
Main duties of the job
These posts offer an opportunity to develop both clinical and managerial skills. Significant up to date experience of working within adult Occupational Therapy physical health is essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for some of the day to day management and supervision of junior staff within the department. Formal supervision and completion of annual appraisals with junior stuff may also be required. In addition, the post holder may contribute to the wider Occupational Therapy service i.e. audits, service developments, attending meetings.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
