The Radiology Service is seeking to appoint enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated experienced Radiographer to strategically lead the day to day operations of the radiology service across North Wales.

The post holder will be required to provide support to Radiology’s senior management team and participate and contribute to several senior Radiology meetings.

It is essential that the post holder has extensive experience within Radiology service and previous experience of leadership is essential.

The successful candidate must have excellent patient care skills, along with good communication, team working skills strategic planning and leadership skills.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the leadership of the operations of Radiology ensuring the service is safe, efficient, cost effective and meets the needs of the wider Health Board and the local population.  This includes contributing to the achievement of all operational performance targets including governance standards, staff competence, access, activity and finance targets.

Act as the specialist for the modality within BCU, horizon scanning, working with Radiologists and other services to identify, lead and evaluate the implementation of new / best practice.  Achieve this through developing relationships with internal and external representatives and bodies.

Provide highly specialist advice on the General radiology service to colleagues, including teaching at graduate and postgraduate level and leading and initiating clinical audit and governance activity.

Develop the Radiology wide service to ensure it complies with national and BCUHB polices and strategies and current relevant legislation.  This will include setting and auditing standards and agreeing and implementing standard operating procedures across Radiology.  This activity will be overseen by Radiology sub committees.

 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
