Job overview
NHS England South East region is looking for a talented and motivated person to join us in the Commissioning Finance team as Finance Analyst supporting Pharmacy, Ophthalmic and Dental commissioning.
A key NHS Objective for 2024/25 is to make it easier for people to access community and primary care services, in particular general practice and dentistry, and as Finance Analyst – Primary Care, the successful candidate will provide key support to ICB (Integrated Care Board) colleagues to deliver this objective.
Main duties of the job
To support the band 7 Senior Finance Analyst in the monthly management accounts and analysis of Primary Dental and provide cover as necessary. A high level of attention to detail is required and there will be a transaction test as part of the selection process. Working in other areas such as Optometry and Pharmacy maybe also be required. We support six ICBs working directly in their ledgers so working under pressure and to deadlines is essential.

Essential Criteria
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within NHS Finance.
- Able to use Excel with ease including Pivot tables.
- Knowledge of transaction lists and full analysis to calculate accruals and aid reconciliations.
- Capable of using own initiative and working without supervision to meet deadlines under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Able to create and do workings for Budget, accrual, adjustment and Forecast journals.
