Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, forward thinking, pharmacy technician with excellent interpersonal skills looking to develop their career across primary care and community hospitals.
You will be based in the central area Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, supported by our established and highly valued team of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
A patient centred evidence-based medicines approach to medicines management is required in the role. You will be working collaboratively with health and social care teams across the locality to improve patient outcomes related to medicines use and ensuring patient safety.

Qualification and/or Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills (QCF) or equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Working within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a primary care pharmacy team
- Previous medicines management experience
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate effectively with members of the public and other Healthcare professionals
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise.
Desirable criteria
- Ability to analyse and solve problems
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word and Excel)
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of GP practice prescribing systems
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance requirements in relation to prescribing and primary care

Essential criteria
- Self motivated and enthusiastic
- Flexibility in approach to meet service needs.
