Job overview

Behaviour Analysts will hold a clinical case list and perform a number of tasks to increase the effectiveness of Inpatient services for people with learning disability and challenging behaviour. The role of the Behaviour Analyst is to support the people who display challenging behaviour through:   the early identification and prevention of challenging behaviour, the prevention and management of crises related to challenging behaviour, providing technical support to work effectively with challenging behaviour.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

To undertake the duties of a Registered Learning Disability Nurse/ Behaviour Analyst, providing high quality care including descriptive functional assessment and multielement intervention of adults with learning disability and behaviour that challenges within Inpatient services.

The Behaviour Analyst to work in collaboration with other members of the IPCT to provide support and guidance to colleagues and undertake referral evaluations around the core areas of practice of challenging behaviour, mental health, forensic issues and PMLD. 

To contribute to the development and implementation of Clinical Governance strategies such as clinical pathways through taking an active role in one or more of the Clinical Effectiveness Groups. 

To work closely with service users, carers and service professionals from the Inpatient service and CLDT to reduce challenging behaviour, improve quality of life and strengthen placement stability of service users. This will be achieved by following the referral pathway.
