Job overview

Applications are invited for the post of Equipment Decontamination/Stores Technician based at Ysbyty Bryn Y Neuadd, Llanfairfechan.

The North West Wales Community Equipment Service provides community equipment (mobility aids) to hospitals and members of the public across North West of Wales.  The service is a Partnership between Gwynedd, Conwy and Anglesey County Council and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

 

 

Main duties of the job

Some key duties include:

Decontaminate community equipment in priority sequence for reuse and or/disposal.

Using personal protective equipment (PPE) achieve total segregation of soiled and clean equipment and ensure that staff handling of equipment does not cross contaminate clean equipment.

Ensuring a safe and clean work environment including but not limited to, the safe racking and storage of equipment, cleanliness of warehouse and vehicles, and general good housekeeping.

A secondary requirement of this role would be on occasions delivering equipment into patient’s houses which includes driving a Health Board vehicle and some administrative work.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education including knowledge of MS Office software
  • B Tec Level 3 in Disabled Living Trusted Assessor Course or relevant proven experience
Desirable criteria
  • Driving qualification beyond standard licence

Experience

  • Experience of assembling equipment and following assembly instructions
Desirable criteria
  • Conversant with Health and Safety Regulations including COSHH
