Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the  living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until  the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed

 

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the pan BCUHB Resuscitation Services department.  You will be part of an established and dedicated team providing all levels of Resuscitation Training, clinical support and advice and will help drive the service forward to improve delivery of resuscitation services.

There are currently two vacancies, one based in Ysbyty Bangor and a second in the Wrexham Maelor Hospital with the opportunity to work to support the service across all three acute sites to help gain valuable experience.

 

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will be involved in instructing on Resuscitation Council UK courses including ILS, PILS, GIC, ALS amongst others as well as a new and exciting opportunity to be involved in the delivery of the European Trauma course for the first time in North Wales.

Audits to ensure patient safety and Quality Improvement work will also form part of the role as well as being an active member of the Resuscitation committee and part of the emergency response teams on the health board's acute sites which provides a balance of clinical work as well as regular teaching both within the hospital setting as well as within our community bases.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Supporting the Resuscitation Team Manager in the planning, organising, implementing and delivering Resuscitation Services for both staff and patients.

 

In collaboration with the Resuscitation Team Manager, deliver the Resuscitation and Clinical Simulation Services for both staff and patients (Acute and Community Services) within the locality.  

 

Act as a senior resuscitation officer within BCUHB, 

 

To work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to ensure the highest standards of patient care and service delivery i

 

Meeting Organisational and National Policies and N.M.C. /H.P.C. Code of Practice, professional standards and guidance

 

Supporting the Resuscitation Team Manager in balancing the budget for Resuscitation and Clinical Simulation Service (where appropriate), whilst maintaining quality and safety of training and delivering financial governance.

 

Support the process for managing concerns/complaints within the locality for Resuscitation and Clinical Skills.

 

Accountable for the delivery of highly specialised training and education for the prevention and management of cardiac arrest and other life-threatening emergencies to all levels of staff within locality.

 

To spend a minimum of 10% of time in clinical practice and have a clearly identified clinical role.

 

Performance Objectives will be set each year with the Resuscitation Team Manager.

 

Accountable for the quality of training and life support care delivered as an autonomous practitioner, supporting and enabling the team.
