This post is fixed term for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.

To provide clerical support to the Child Health Department within the pre-school & school admin department.

The role involves: Dealing with Health Visitors, School Nurses and supporting all colleagues

Main duties of the job

To provide clerical support to the Child Health Department within the pre-school department. The role involves: dealing with Health Visitors and support staff,  creating new Child Health records, both electronically and manually, data inputting on the Child Health computer system, updating child health records, filing, photocopying and distribution and checking of letters. Responsible for the printing of the weekly child health reports download.  Strict confidentiality will be maintained at all times.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of education GCSE's English and Maths essential
  • Previous administrative/clerical experience
  • Ability to learn the Child Health system and use Microsoft packages
  • Ability to work under own initiative whilst undertaking advice from seniors
Desirable criteria
  • Previous admin background
  • Previous use of the child health system
  • Welsh speaker
  • Ability to cope under pressure
