Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the Acute Occupational Therapy Team in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join the team. The post is 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis. The post holder will work closely with the Acute Clinical Lead OT to ensure the Acute OT team provides a high standard of assessment and treatment to patients within an acute hospital setting.
Prior acute physical health experience is essential and the post holder must be able to demonstrate highly specialist clinical skills as an autonomous practitioner, and effectively manage complex cases whilst making informed decisions to optimize patient outcomes in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Main duties of the job
Alongside the Acute Clinical Lead OT the post holder will provide strong leadership by guiding, supporting and supervising junior staff. The post holder will lead service development projects, complete service audits and implement clinical pathways to enhance patient care and the discharge process. This will include attending and leading meetings, audit, evidence based practice, research and service evaluation.
The Band 7 Occupational Therapist will be responsible for delivering a high standard of assessment and treatment, to patients within an acute hospital setting. This role involves managing a complex caseload, leading service development initiatives, and providing clinical supervision to junior staff. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centred care, promote independence, and facilitate timely discharge.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
