Job overview

Management and co-ordination of all cardiology mandatory databases including BCIS, MINAP and Heart Failure.  This role will involve acting with independent judgement to analyse conflicting data sources from internal and external providers, to accurately complete cardiology databases and national audits. The post holder will be required to ensure timely completion of reports to meet regional and national deadlines, and to provide and present written and verbal reports on complex and sensitive cardiology data in tabulated and graphical form at meetings as required. The post holder will also use this data to assist clinicians with research projects as required. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Medicine team as a Cardiology Data Co-ordinator. 

The post holder will be responsible for the Management and co-ordination of all cardiology mandatory databases including BCIS, MINAP and Heart Failure.  This role will involve acting with independent judgement to analyse conflicting data sources from internal and external providers, to accurately complete cardiology databases and national audits. The post holder will be required to ensure timely completion of reports to meet regional and national deadlines, and to provide and present written and verbal reports on complex and sensitive cardiology data in tabulated and graphical form at meetings as required. The post holder will also use this data to assist clinicians with research projects as required.

The successful individual will require excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with highly confidential patient information.  Along with an advanced level of   administrative and organisational skills.

The post holder will provide a co-ordinating role for Central to ensure compliance with national database submissions and ensuring validation of data quality. In order to contribute to the delivery of a safe and efficient service, the post holder will co-ordinate results and ensure accurate and timely completion of databases and reports to meet national deadlines.

The post holder will be a key member of the Medicine Management Team and based in the North Wales Catheter Lab and will line manage the Admin Teams within the Cath Lab and Cardiac Physiology Departments.

 

The post holder will work closely with our Cardiology Medical Team, Clinicians and administrative Teams

Aptitude

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level in communication or information related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a busy office environment, undertaking a varied role where different deadlines and priorities had to be managed on a daily basis
  • Effective database and spreadsheet management, including formulae, creating
  • Formal minute taking skills
  • Proven ability to support and manage projects from initiation to completion including project monitoring and reporting.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports and documents
Desirable criteria
  • Supervisory/management qualification or willing to work towards one/relevant experience
  • Experience in data collection and case note handling.
  • Knowledge of cardiology patient pathways.
  • Experience of WPAS

Aptitude and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of cardiology procedures and terminology
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable criteria
  • Welsh speaker
