 Are you a qualified Dental Nurse who is looking for a fresh challenge OUTSIDE of a surgery environment? 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Dental Nurse or Dental Nurses to join our North Wales Dental Helpline to cover a full time maternity leave post for a period of nine months.  Hours of work are full or part time Monday to Friday, as well as weekends and Bank Holidays.  Job share considered.

 You will join a team of Dental Nurses/Advisers offering telephone dental health triage to patients who are in need of urgent dental care, which includes booking patients onto urgent access sessions across North Wales.

 You will have experience of working within a busy practice and understand the demands this environment brings, as well as excellent communication skills.

 As a qualified Dental Nurse/Adviser you will be based within the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Rhyl, with the opportunity to work out of other locations as relevant.  Home working also available.

 The ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.

 You must be registered with the General Dental Council.

 The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post; minimum level 3.

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will primarily be required to undertake triage duties on the North Wales Dental Helpline.  Additionally in order to maintain clinical competences, may be required to travel within the North Wales Community Dental Service (NWCDS), as appropriate.  Travel expenses will be paid.

  • GDC Registration
  • Certificate in Dental Nursing or equivalent
  • Appropriate resuscitation certification
  • Evidence of CPD
Desirable criteria
  • Post-registration qualification in a dental field, e.g. Certificate in Oral Health Education, Special Care, Sedation, Dental Radiography
  • CDS Experience

Experience

  • Current or recent dental surgery experience
  • Chairside assistance in the treatment of children and adults
