We have an exciting opportunity to take up a newly created post as the Paediatric Lead for Audiology services in Bedfordshire. We're looking for an enthusiastic Audiologist with drive and vision to take forward our quality agenda. Your focus will be creating the best experience possible for our patients. You'll be a key contributor in delivering a high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred assessment and (re)habilitation service for our population of babies, children and young adults, as well as leading, shaping and managing your teams and service area.
The Paediatric Audiology team are present on two sites in the county, one at Bedford Hospital, and one at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital, working under the merged banner of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job
- Responsibility for a comprehensive assessment and rehabilitation service for Deaf and hearing impaired children including complex cases, requiring highly specialist skills and knowledge, working at an advanced senior level.
- Paediatric Service lead, including line management responsibility for Paediatric staff on all provider sites.
- Deputised responsible for clinical leadership, strategic planning and operational delivery in the Paediatric Audiology service.
- To act as an expert resource for both staff, families and children including those with special needs and complex requirements.
- To oversee the Paediatric Audiology Service’s quality program including its progress towards obtaining IQIPS accreditation (Improving Quality in Physiological Measurement).
- To participate in planning, developing and implementing the service’s training and clinical supervision programs.
- To collaborate with the Head of Service in a programme of continuous improvement and development.
- Opportunity to participate in the adult rehabilitation service.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
