NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant

Job overview

We are seeking to recruit a substantive, full-time, Consultant to join our department at the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The job is primarily based at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital with the possibility and opportunity to cover some pain services at the Bedford Hospital site.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and well-established team of Obstetric Anaesthetists at Luton and Dunstable Hospital. 'The L&D' has a total of 641 beds across all disciplines and serves a local population of over 400,000 from Luton, Dunstable and towns and villages in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

The maternity service has around 5,500 deliveries per year and is known as a busy unit with many complex patients, and also as a friendly and fulfilling place to work. We work alongside a Level 3 Neonatal Unit and therefore accept early preterm intrauterine transfers for management and delivery.

Luton and Dunstable hospital is located within easy access to central London and the Midlands.  London Luton Airport is within fifteen minutes’ drive from the hospital.  There are many attractive villages and towns nearby like St Albans and Harpenden which has excellent schools.
