This post is an exciting opportunity for a midwife who has a passion for patient safety and quality assurance and standards.

We are looking for a midwife to lead our Antenatal and Newborn screening services on our Luton site to ensure that that we continue to meet our high standards and maintain our targets.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a midwife who has an eye for detail and has a consistent and thorough approach to their work. This role would suit someone who has previous screening experience or a good amount of relevant experience and is looking to move into a more senior role.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the screening targets for department are met and must be confident to identify areas of concern and escalate appropriately.

There is also an educational aspect to the role as the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all maternity staff members are suitably trained and are also kept abreast of any changes or developments within the ANNB screening service.

  • Registered Midwife
  • Evidence of working or willingness to work towards the Antenatal Screening Module and haemoglobinopathy course

  • Recognised Teaching Qualification
  • Post-basic Specialist Qualification

Experience

  • Suitable Post-Registration experience within relevant speciality at band 6 or above
  • Extensive clinical experience
  • In depth specialist knowledge
