We currently have a great opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and experienced nurse to join our Breast Cancer team. If you take pride and ownership in delivering a high standard of patient care with oncology experience this would be a great opportunity.
The role will involve studies working as part of a pro-active, multi-professional Breast Cancer team, as well as the acute Oncology team.
This post involves working closely with the Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist, Acute Oncology CNS, Chemotherapy unit, patients, relatives as well as clinical staff including consultants, wider CNS team and administrative staff.

To support the Breast Care Nurse Team providing supportive care and information within the outpatient setting to patients and their families with breast cancer.
The post holder will provide a high standard of nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of patient care. To work closely with the breast care multi-disciplinary team members to ensure patients are supported and their needs are assessed within the outpatient setting.
To promote a patient focused approach to care in collaboration with all relevant health care professionals.
The staff nurse is a member of the multi-disciplinary team providing skilled care and advice to cancer patients and their families / partners / friends in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
The staff nurse will assist in the management and organisation of the nursing service in all clinical cancer areas when required

- • Computer/IT literate • Cannulation and venepuncture skills • Intravenous drug administration skills • Port a caths, and PICC • Involvement in standard setting and audit
Qualifications

- • Current Registered Nurse with the NMC or working towards (e.g. IELTs, CBT, OSCE) • Degree in Nurse related specialty or working towards

- • Mentorship or teaching qualification

- • Demonstrates awareness of current changes in the NHS – in particular related to Nursing • Evidence of further education, training and on-going learning
