Job overview

We are looking for a motivated Ward Clerk to join our fast paced Team.

The post holder will need to undertake various clerical and administrative duties to facilitate the smooth running of the ward.

Main duties of the job

1. Liaise on a daily basis with nurse in charge.
2. To deal with the following:
- managing patient records including: requesting notes from medical records; tracking notes 
from the ward; answering medical record requests;
- answering incoming calls and either dealing with enquiries or diverting calls, and
- booking patient transport for outpatient appointments and treatment.
3. To be able to use the EPR system to book appointments, enter demographics, admit and 
discharge patients.
4. To prepare notes, and other relevant documentation for transfer with the patient to the wards 
as required, tracking using EPR.
5. To support nursing and medical staff as required.
6. To ensure the ward areas are kept well-stocked with stationary, and photocopying as required.
7. Liaise with the facilities department on behalf of staff, logging maintenance requests.
8. Filing reports in and general maintenance of notes.
9. To take responsibility for own personal development.
