It’s an exciting time to join us on Sidmouth Ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital – a 28 bedded ‘ward accredited’ gastroenterology inpatient unit.

On Sidmouth there are a wide range of opportunities to further your career development and progression and we are looking for motivated and committed individuals to be part of our dynamic team. We work closely with our practice education team and clinical skills in order to offer a wide range of training and exciting opportunities including a well-received ‘Gastroenterolgy’ Study day which is tailored to suit those both new and longstanding to the field. 

Whether you’re a student nurse looking for your first professional nursing job, you’re looking to return to the profession after a break in practice or seeking out the next challenge and opportunity to develop and enhance your nursing skills - this is the job for you.

We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to join us and help care for patients suffering from a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. We need you to help us make a difference to the lives of those who enter our care and to continue to deliver the high standard of care to our patients.

The post-holder is responsible for undertaking and recording a
comprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluating
high standards of evidenced based nursing care to a diverse group of
patients.

Is expected to deliver care without direct supervision. Is accountable for the care delivered and any omissions of care.

Is expected to teach and supervise more junior staff, students and the non registered nursing workforce.

Is accountable for care or any omissions of care that he/she delegates to others

Is expected to act as role model, delivering care with empathy and
compassion as part of a multidisciplinary team.
