Band 8A Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist for Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Opportunity to extend role within the specialty of Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

A clinical specialist with at least significant experience working as a Band 7 within the specialty who can also prescribe within this specialty for patients with IBD.

To lead a team of CNS and PA to both support patient care and service development with teaching and auditing requirements.

Main duties of the job

Lead the Trust IBD Team in the delivery of safe and effective specialised advice and support to patients with complex needs.

The multidisciplinary team currently includes IBD nurses, Physicians associate (PA); pharmacists and Consultant gastroenterologists.

This team reviews IBD patients to identify, prevent and treat complications early, and to ensure safe and appropriate prescriptions are prescribed, as well as organising safe and efficient advice for those patients requiring it.

Monitoring patients’ blood results from the community in line with DAWN remote monitoring.
