There are few things more rewarding than working with children, particularly when you know you are making a difference to their future. Dolphin and Lion is a 44-bed acute paediatric ward with a designated High Dependency Unit and designated Oncology beds.
The Ward cares for children and young people 0-16 years of age with a variety of medical, surgical conditions including ENT, orthopaedic and shared care oncology. Our purpose built ward offers family-centered care and a pleasant supportive learning environment. We are looking for Healthcare Support workers with excellent communication skills, enthusiasm to progress, motivated team players. We can offer commitment to your personal and professional development.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

You will need good communication skills to enable you to support families and assist the nursing staff in the smooth running of the patients into their appointments. IT literacy is required to enable you to use the Trust procurement system. Preference will be given to applicants with current or previous paediatric experience.

Gweithio i'n sefydliad

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to undertake literacy, numeracy and IT assessments. If you successfully pass these assessments you will then be invited to attend an interview

Successful applicants will be supported through their learning and development by the outpatient  and the paediatric practice education teams.

Swydd ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

You will be required to work alongside the nursing staff, assisting in the daily duties and you will be ordering equipment and ensuring the clinic rooms are well stocked and cleaned after each clinic. You will also be assisting the nursing staff preparing the patients for their appointment, including obtaining their weight and height and urine samples if required.
