We require an enthusiastic, reliable and organised individual to join our team within Radiology who can offer commitment to meeting patients’ expectations and diagnostic targets.  We are a busy and challenging department with changing priorities; therefore well-developed communication and organisational skills are essential.

I.T. literacy is key as you will act as a super user for the Radiology Information System and Electronic Patient Record, and will be required to have a good working knowledge of all hospital systems.  Familiarity of PC software packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is desirable.

The specific duties of the role are detailed in the job description for which internal departmental training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organized individual to provide specialist admin support to the Radiology teams. You will need to be confident working within a team in a fast paced environment and have excellent IT skills, be comfortable communicating with patients and colleagues at all levels and work quickly and accurately under pressure.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work with the Clinical Leads and Patient Pathway Teams to ensure scheduling capacity is sufficient for expected demand.

To direct, support and effectively lead the Patient Pathway Support Team. 

To keep accurate records and produces waiting list reports contributing to demand & capacity reviews.

To manage the collection or compilation of waiting list data that may be required on an ad-hoc basis for audit purposes.

To collect appointment statistics from the Patient Pathway Support Team relating to unattended appointments etc., ensuring patterns are highlighted and addressed appropriately.

To recognise when patients are on cancer pathways and liaise with Cancer Services MDT Co-ordinators to ensure patients are scheduled appropriately and sensitively.

To validate data for DM01 submission to Care Commissioning Groups in conjunction with the Service Manager (Administrative).

To ensure scheduled lists and recovery bay bookings are managed appropriately in conjunction with Consultant Radiologists, Lead Radiographers, and Radiology Sister whilst undertaking appropriate pathway administrative functions for coding and income purposes.

Education

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A-C

  • Educated to A-level, or NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
