Pulmonary Rehabilitation Administrator - Respiratory - Fixed Term/Part time
The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide support in the proactive management of the administration of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation programme from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire journey is managed smoothly.
The post holder will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focussed and knowledgeable point of contact. To provide a consistent approach across the Trust, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will describe how the functions of the role will be carried out, along with the timescales to which are to be adhered.

Essential criteria
- Accurate data entry, typing and checking skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people of all levels.
- Able to deal with people who have difficulty communicating.
- Good communication skills.
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets related to appointments and waiting times
- Knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
Previous experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of using IT systems
- Experience of scheduling outpatient appointments.
- Experience of working with patients and providing information regarding their appointments or treatment.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of health or social care setting
- Experience working with members of the public.
- Some understanding of hospital working.
Education
Essential criteria
- GCSE or equivalent.
- IT skills, including email.
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience.
Physical requirements
Essential criteria
- Able to sustain moderate to high level physical effort throughout the working day.
- Able to cope with a busy working environment.
- Have a flexible approach to working and able to undertake evening, weekend and public holiday duty commitments as required
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
