Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Clinical Admin Team as Patient Pathway Support. The post holder will be responsible for delivering an effective and efficient support service to speciality/CAT teams, to assist in the provision of quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
This will include general clerical and administrative duties that support the administrative elements of the entire patient pathway. The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to enable them to support the patient pathway.

The key purpose of this role is to deliver a 'world class' service to the Trust and the job holder will be expected to deliver this level of service through personal conduct, personal responsibility and the following key characteristics.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To be responsible for the timely processing and distribution of all incoming mail
- Ensure all letters, and documents received into the area of work from whatever source are date stamped upon arrival and processed according to the established Standard Operating procedures (SOPs)
- To support Patient Pathway Coordinator (PPCs) with printing documents from a variety of systems, including the medical transcription system
- Check that all printed clinic and appointment letters are complete and accurately addressed, and escalate any that need correction to PPCs
- Assist the Patient Pathway Coordinators and PPCs to ensure all healthcare notes and diagnostic results are available for each patient at the beginning of the clinic session
- Ensure all relevant documents are filed in patients’ healthcare records according to local standards for turnaround time
- Retrieve health records as requested by members of the team
- Book and reschedule patient appointments as required
- Respond to emails about appointment queries as directed
- Assist with booking services for patients e.g. transport

Essential criteria
- GSCE (or equivalent) or above in Maths and English Language
Experience

Desirable criteria
- Experience within a customer service setting
- Experience within an NHS administration environment
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
