Are you an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking to work for a Trust rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC?
Our friendly and supportive team based at the Garden Clinic (Sexual Health) in Slough, are looking for an experienced healthcare assistant to join a growing team. We work on a Monday to Friday basis, working 1 Saturday every 4 to 6 weeks.
Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for those who are open minded and non-judgemental, with the ability to work in a highly confidential environment. Previous sexual health experience within GUM is desirable for this role.
You will have the opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team, where we offer incredible training opportunities.
Working within Sexual Health, no day is the same and you will be met with a variation of cases from testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, and contraception. Giving you the exposure to develop and enhance your current skillset!

Main duties of the job

To work as a health care assistant supporting the clinical team of sexual health nurses, doctors and health advisers who deliver care within the scope of our Sexual Health Service in East Berkshire.

To work autonomously to prepare specimens for microscopy, interpret slides and document those results onto electronic patient record system with a high degree of accuracy.

To act as chaperone and respect privacy, dignity, and diversity of patients at all times.

To recognise the needs of patients and encourage positive attitudes and practice by ensuring that their needs are either met or reported promptly to Lead Nurse or Senior Clinician

- Ability to travel to multiple sites with own transport
- To be comfortable and non-judgemental working in a sexual health environment and to be able to demonstrate an understanding of individual needs and issues.
- Physical ability to manage stairs whilst carrying small loads.
- Flexible attitude to work to meet the needs of the Sexual Health Service
- Car driver with use of a car for work purpose.
Training
