Our friendly and supportive team based at the Garden Clinic (Sexual Health) in Slough, are looking for a Health Advisor/ Clinical Nurse Specialist to join a growing team.
We are a busy level 3 sexual health service based in Slough. We offer sexual health service Windsor, Maidenhead, Ascot, and Bracknell via our satellite service. We work on a Monday to Friday basis, working 1 Saturday every 4 to 6 weeks.
Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for those who are open minded and non-judgemental, with the ability to work in a highly confidential environment. Previous family planning or sexual health experience within GUM setting is essential for this role.
You will have the opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team, where we offer incredible training opportunities, such as non-medical prescribers training.
Working within Sexual Health, no day is the same and you will be met with a variation of cases from testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, and contraception. Giving you the exposure to develop and enhance your current skillset
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for providing a high standard of sexual reproductive healthcare to patients accessing the sexual health service. The post holder will be expected to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team offering holistic, non-judgemental sexual health care demonstrating professional and ethical responsibilities and to build and maintain good working functional relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be responsible for the management of the pathology results and to ensure that patients are provided with information, advice, treatment, and support when they are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection The post holder will be expected to supervise and mentor junior staff and nursing students, and to take an active role in the leadership and management of the nursing team. This post involves working at the Garden Clinic in Slough, but you may be required to travel to work at locality clinics in Bracknell, Windsor, and Maidenhead. It is desirable that you be a car driver with the use of a car for work purpose.

Education/Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse- Adult
Desirable criteria
- Sexual Health qualification in SRH or undertaking SRH qualification.
- Sexual Health qualification in GUM
- Sexual Health qualification in HIV
- Active on mentor register
- Teaching qualification, eg ENB SLICE/998 and/or teaching experience
Continuous Professional Development
Essential criteria
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
- Independent Prescribing qualification –or willing to work towards
- Higher degree in related field
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive post qualification experience.
Desirable criteria
- Significant Experience in sexual and reproductive Health.
- Experience of Working as Health Advisor
