Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a Centre of excellence in specialist healthcare for women, children, and their families in the West Midlands.  

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated nurse to join our infant feeding team who have a vision to develop and maintain high standards of care for women, children, and young people.  The role requires the individual to have advanced experience of working with mothers and children’s and supporting feeding. The individual will need to be enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about good quality care for women, children, and young people. We are developing our Infant Feeding Team at BCH to provide the best possible infant feeding advice and support to families. 

We currently have two fixed term vacancies, one full time post 37.5hrs for 20 months and one 22.5hrs per week post for 12 months.

The post holder will be working as part of the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Infant Feeding Team, contributing to all aspects of the service, but focusing on infant feeding support at Birmingham Children’s Hospital

We are looking for an experienced registered Nurse who:

·         Has specialist knowledge of the Baby friendly initiative and can help support the implementation of standards.

·         Has a keen interest in ensuring high standards of care and support for patients who are breastfeeding their babies

·         Will provide expert knowledge, support, and advice to staff across the trust and be happy to deliver education in a classroom setting

·         Will provide direct support to patients with feeding problems as required
