This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly team within a busy department!
The successful applicant will to undertake duties in support of the Pharmacist, Technicians and Dispensers, primarily performing Reception Duties in dispensary, accurately logging prescriptions onto the tracking system, being the friendly face at the Pharmacy hatch, handling calls and queries and supporting Stores and Distribution duties
Main duties of the job
Undertakes duties in support of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
- reception duties in dispensary
- packing, supply and delivery of medicines to wards and departments
- receiving medicines into the department
- Deal with queries, requests from patients and staff at the hatch & on the telephone.
- Be able to take in prescriptions including verifying the patient’s identity and the validity of the prescription, clarifying details about the prescription
- Entering prescription details including discharge medication (TTO’s) onto the pharmacy computer tracking system. Monitoring their progress and logging stages in the transaction process
- To undertake the filing of paper records including sorting and filing the full range of prescriptions daily, weekly and at end of month, year.
- Replenishment of dispensary stocks.
